Freshkills Park: A Place of Serenity
Course: Reading New York Urbanism, Columbia University GSAPP, 2017
In collaboration with Shih Hao Liao and Xiaofei Huang
This documentary narrates the process of transforming the largest landfill in the world; Freshkills in Staten Island, New York City. The aim is to represent processes of ecological restorations, the revival of the community, and enhancing the social experiences in the neighborhood that was once adjacent to a landfill. The documentary includes interviews with a native resident and practitioners from New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.
